An Update from MPC Insurance Group

I hope you are all doing well and staying safe during these difficult times. We continue to encourage our clients to social distance, wear a mask in public, wash hands often and keep surfaces clean. These simple guidelines should keep us all safer!

We want to thank all of you who responded to our survey. We greatly appreciate the time you took to provide us with valuable insights about how we can better serve you. We also greatly appreciate so many of the kind comments. Our goal is to provide outstanding service to our clients and the survey was intended to help improve what we do. It also let us know that many of you are interested in other services such as Life insurance and Long Term Care insurance. We have the ability to fill those needs and will do more in the near future to inform you about those services.

We want to take this opportunity to remind you about the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) which starts on October 15th and ends on December 7. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan or a stand-alone Prescription drug plan, you will receive the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) on October 1st from your insurance carrier.  The ANOC outlines changes to your coverage for the following year, 2021. Please review the ANOC carefully to see what changes your coverage will have for 2021. We will also receive the changes for all the insurance plans around that same time and we will review the changes as well. Once we review the plans, we will send you a letter and/or call you to see if you want to meet or if you are good staying with your current coverage. If you decide you want to make a change then we will schedule a meeting with you during AEP to review other plans. If you do not wish to change coverage, you do not need to do anything, your coverage will be automatically renewed. Again, we will be in touch near the end of September or early October to discuss the need for a change or a meeting to review your coverage for 2021.

For those of you have a Medicare Supplement plan, those plans can be changed at any time but the change will be subject to a Medical questionnaire or what is known as “medical underwriting.” As such, the vast majority of our clients stay with their Supplement plan each year given the difficulty in changing plans. Keep in mind however, if you have a Supplement plan and want to change to a Medicare Advantage plan, you can do so without medical underwriting during the AEP. Also, as noted above, if you have a stand-alone prescription drug plan, you can change that plan during the AEP.

We look forward to working with you this fall and in years to come. Please contact us if you have any questions or any additional needs. We can be reached at 717-980-3201 or at info@mpcins.com. Enjoy our video on Covid safety and please continue to stay safe!
